Job summary

FHLBank Chicago is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to transform complex mortgage and business data into actionable insights. This role supports MPF leadership with portfolio analysis, risk monitoring, forecasting, and data-driven recommendations.

You will develop dashboards, monitor performance, and collaborate with Risk, Finance, BI, Data Management, and Mortgage Operations to drive strategic decisions across the MPF program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 4+ years in data analytics, BI, or financial analysis.
• Direct mortgage portfolio or housing finance experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
• Translate large datasets into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
• Intellectual curiosity to understand business drivers.
• Advanced SQL skills required.
• Advanced dashboarding and data visualization in Tableau/Power BI.
• Experience with Python, R, SAS preferred.
• Familiarity with AI or automation techniques is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; senior stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and multi-priority focus.
• Self-motivated and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Identify trends, portfolio risks, and opportunities through advanced analysis of mortgage data.
• Develop scalable analytical solutions, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Deliver insights to improve portfolio performance and risk oversight.
• Lead portfolio monitoring frameworks and advanced analyses for MPF.
• Analyze large mortgage datasets to support strategic initiatives.
• Design executive dashboards and visualizations for leadership.
• Automate data analyses, reporting workflows, and governance practices.
• Collaborate with Risk, Finance, BI, Data Management, and Mortgage Operations.
• Stay current on mortgage industry developments and analytics methods.
