Job summary

FHLBank Chicago is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for Mortgage Analytics & Insights to transform mortgage data into actionable insights for the MPF program. You will analyze portfolios, monitor risk, forecast trends, and build scalable dashboards for leadership and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, financial analysis, or related discipline.
• Direct experience analyzing performance and risk of mortgage portfolios, mortgage-backed securities, or housing finance programs is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
• Experience translating large, complex datasets into actionable business insights and recommendations.
• Strong business acumen to connect analytics to organizational objectives.
• Advanced SQL skills for querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
• Advanced dashboarding and data visualization skills with Tableau/Power BI.
• Experience with Python, R, SAS or similar tools.
• Familiarity with AI or automation techniques is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transform mortgage and business data into actionable insights for MPF leadership.
• Perform portfolio analysis, risk monitoring, performance measurement, forecasting, and data-driven recommendations.
• Develop scalable dashboards and reporting frameworks for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead portfolio monitoring and advanced analyses of volume, credit performance, and emerging risks across MPF.
• Collaborate with Risk, Finance, BI, Data Management, and Mortgage Operations to address business needs.
