Job summary

Allstate is seeking a Senior MongoDB Database Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate a hybrid MongoDB platform across on-premises and Atlas PaaS. You will lead replica sets, sharded clusters, and disaster recovery while collaborating with application, security, SRE, and cloud teams.

The role demands deep MongoDB expertise, strong Linux skills, and hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and performance tuning in large-scale environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of database administration, engineering, or data-platform engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on MongoDB administration and engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, administer, and support enterprise MongoDB environments across on-premises and MongoDB Atlas PaaS.
• Lead MongoDB installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
• Design and operate MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters with appropriate topology and capacity.
• Define and maintain MongoDB engineering standards, architectures, build procedures, and operational controls.
• Participate in architecture reviews and advise application teams on data modeling, indexing, scalability, and readiness.
