The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician/Specialist to join the Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory of Dr. Arupa Ganguly.

You will perform routine and complex molecular biology procedures including DNA isolation, mutation detection, real-time Q-PCR, NGS library prep, SNP arrays, sequence analysis, and related tasks in a clinical genetic testing setting. Ideal candidates hold a BS in biology or related field with 3–5 years of bench experience, strong skills in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 3–5 years of experience.
Strong bench skills with nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing, and QPCR.
Familiarity with web-based databases and bioinformatic analysis is desirable.
Experience with NGS setup and analysis; coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures in a clinical genetic testing lab.
Operate and maintain molecular biology equipment.
Participate in proficiency testing and ensure regulatory compliance.
