Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine seeks a Clinical Molecular Technologist to join the laboratory of Dr. Arupa Ganguly. You will perform DNA isolation, mutation detection in disease genes, real-time Q-PCR for gene dosage, NGS library prep, sequencing, and related duties in a clinical setting.

Experience with bioinformatics for next-generation sequencing on DNA or RNA is preferred. Responsibilities include Sanger and NextGen sequencing, variant annotation, RT-PCR, QC

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical procedures including Sanger and NextGen sequencing, copy number determination, Methylation analysis by RT-PCR.
• Analyze diagnostic results including variant annotation and RT-PCR data; Illumina iSCAN data analysis.
• Perform routine DNA isolation, quantification, and QC assays.
• Maintain equipment and service contacts; monitor supplies and expenses.
• Assist in experimental design and project development; participate in meetings.
