Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking an experienced Mold Tooling Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design and production of medical cable assemblies and connector products. This role focuses on injection-molded components and process optimization.

Responsibilities include managing an internal tool shop, performing DFM reviews, designing injection molds, and coordinating with external mold shops globally to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
• An Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience is also considered.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
• Capability to conduct thorough DFM and tooling feasibility reviews.
• Extensive experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an internal tool shop, coordinating with toolmakers and mold design engineers.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure optimal product designs.
• Design and evaluate injection molds for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
• Develop and support tooling concepts, including gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
• Work closely with external mold shops, both domestic and offshore, throughout the tool design and qualification process.
• Assist in resolving tooling-related issues and facilitate design updates as needed.
