Job summary

Amphenol Alden is seeking a Mold Tooling Engineering Manager at our Stoughton, MA facility to lead an internal tool shop, oversee mold design for medical connectors, and drive DFM reviews across new product designs.

You will partner with product engineering, manage external mold shops, and support sustaining engineering with tooling improvements, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
• Strong background in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an internal tool shop with toolmakers and mold design engineers on staff.
• Lead DFM review on new product designs, identifying draft requirements, parting lines, undercuts, shut-offs, wall transitions, and tooling risks.
• Design and/or review injection molds for medical connector components, over-molded strain reliefs, and cable assemblies.
• Support tooling concepts including gating, venting, cooling, steel conditions, surface finishes, slides, lifters, and other mold actions.
• Partner with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, robust, and cost-effective.
• Interface with external domestic and offshore mold shops during tool design, build, debug, and qualification.
• Assist sustaining engineering teams with tooling-related issues, yield improvements, and design updates.
