Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced simulation software engineer to craft and validate models for New Glenn, the orbital launch program. You will design, implement, and validate real‑time simulations used for operator training and procedure development, bridging software with hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering/physical science field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of dynamic modeling including multi‑body dynamics, gas dynamics, fluids, thermodynamics.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Python, RTOS, serial communications, IP networking, and embedded systems.
• Strong skills in MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape and C/C++, Python.
• Hands‑on with hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, implement, and revise software for mathematical models of New Glenn and subsystems.
• Develop simulation architectures for real‑time SIL and HIL testing.
• Maintain model documentation and databooks.
• Assist engineers in developing products to implement Blue's simulations.
• Support systems analyses and cross‑functional architectural decisions.
• Develop verification and validation procedures to ensure models meet requirements.
• Support component‑level test programs including on‑site testing and post‑test analysis.
• Support launch crew trainings by operating the simulator during sessions.
