Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the development, integration, and validation of mission-critical software for the New Glenn rocket system. You will influence system-level software architecture while building verifiable, safe flight software in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role demands 10+ years in real-time embedded systems, strong troubleshooting, and experience with Python and Linux. A BS in a relevant field is required, MS/PhD is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience with real-time embedded systems and verification of safety-critical software.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with Python and Linux environments.
• MS/PhD in related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, integration, and validation of mission-critical software for the New Glenn rocket system.
• Lead software integration activities for critical rocket systems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work hands-on in hardware-in-the-loop environments to validate flight software.
• Design and implement verification strategies for safety-critical systems.
• Influence system-level software architecture decisions and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets mission requirements.
