Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks seeks a Senior Engineer to collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing and Regulatory to deliver enterprise-level modeling for prefilled syringes and other combination products.

You will apply physics-based modeling, numerical methods, and AI/ML to improve device performance, robustness, and lifecycle understanding, supporting design verification and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with experience in computational modeling and simulation
• Bachelor’s with 4 years experience in computational modeling and simulation
• Associate’s degree and 8 years experience in engineering
• High school diploma / GED and 10 years of engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, qualify, and deploy advanced computational models for combination products.
• Apply first-principles/analytical modeling, numerical methods, FEA, surrogate modeling, and AI/ML.
• Develop digital models to understand device performance and lifecycle behavior.
• Analyze simulation results and communicate insights to support technical decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Data Science.
