Job summary

Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Lead Engineer in Menasha, WI to develop physics-based models for electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems in distributed energy resources and power distribution.

You will create simulations, oversee modeling processes, and drive innovation in product engineering, with heavy emphasis on verification and validation of controls software using DOE methods and data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in systems simulation.
• Knowledge of multi-physics modeling software such as Simulink, Simscape, Simcenter Amesim, GT Suite, or similar OR experience with using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to develop models and conduct analysis
• Proficient in development and use of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), model-in-loop (MIL), and/or software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation platforms
• Strong understanding of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, power, or power distribution concepts including uninterrupted power supply, power converters, switchboards, and/or other power electronics
• Demonstrated implementation of real-world power generation and distribution problems into complex modeling and simulation platforms
• Demonstrated development and implementation of modular component models with scalable flexibility for various levels of simulation fidelity

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based modeling and simulation environment for a variety of electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems for distributed energy resources and power distribution
• Develop FEA or CFD simulations of critical components and structures to optimize robustness, cost, and guide product manufacturing
• Conduct product architecture trade studies and optimization to ensure maximized performance and minimal costs
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to characterize components and systems in a simulation environment and communicate analysis results
• Utilize DOE, optimization methods, and data driven modeling and analysis tools
• Use models and simulation platforms to verify and validate controls software
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
