Job summary

FleetPride, the largest after-market distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S., is seeking a Mobile Technician III. You will master preventive maintenance, diagnose vehicle systems, and train other technicians.

This role works in the shop between service calls and may join the after-hours on-call rotation. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, performing maintenance, repairing brakes, suspensions, engines, and electrical systems, and ensuring quality before delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers
• Diagnostic experience
• Welding experience
• Air Brake Certified

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunction(s).
• Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions, whenever appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity
• Train new service shop employees on company procedures regarding vehicle repairs.
• Inspect orders for completion and quality before presentation or delivery to customers.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including leaf and coil spring systems, and Hendrickson walking beam type suspension systems.

Skills

Valid driver's license

Class A CDL preferred

Must provide hand tools

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Education

High school diploma or GED

Diesel Technology certificate/degree (plus)
