Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the WARP Mobile SDK team in Austin, TX, building the future of our mobile security SDKs. You will define client APIs for native iOS and Android, and drive robust, testable foundations for partner teams.

You will set standards for performance, compatibility, and release quality, while mentoring engineers and solving cross-ecosystem challenges to deliver reliable developer experiences.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building production software for either iOS with Swift or Android with Kotlin, and enough familiarity with the other ecosystem to guide shared architectural decisions.
• Experience designing or owning customer-distributed SDKs, libraries, or similarly constrained developer-facing products.
• Experience with mobile platform security concepts, including app and device integrity, secure key storage, authentication, and secure communications.
• Familiarity with native mobile networking stacks, HTTP APIs, and the integration challenges across architectures.
• Experience diagnosing production issues that cross app, SDK, network, and service boundaries, while designing safe diagnostics that do not expose sensitive data.
• Understanding of mobile package distribution, compatibility, dependency management, and release practices.
• Experience writing technical designs and aligning decisions across product, client, backend, edge, and security teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising a team's technical bar through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Empathetic, proactive, and constructive written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to operate within strict mobile performance budgets including binary size and startup time.

Responsibilities

• Define the client architecture and public APIs for native iOS and Android SDKs, working from deep expertise in at least one ecosystem.
• Establish foundations that are testable, well-documented, lightweight, and straightforward for customer engineering teams to integrate and operate.
• Set standards for compatibility, diagnostics, performance, and release quality across mobile platforms and collaborate with partners.
• Mentor native mobile engineers and help resolve complex customer integration issues while carrying distributed software from design to production operation.
