Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr Mobile Diesel Tech - DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, diagnostics and repairs on a range of vehicles in a mobile setting. You will operate from a company-provided service vehicle and work across a nationwide network of service centers and providers.

The role emphasizes independent work, safety compliance with DOT/OSHA, and strong customer interaction to assess needs and provide solutions. Prior DOT-related experience and ASE certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field.
• DOT regulations knowledge is preferred.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailers and truck equipment including brakes, air lines, and liftgates.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders using the TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
