Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician (DOT) to service light through heavy-duty trucks on a mobile/field basis across the USA.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with several years of related experience, DOT/FMCSA familiarity, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license. You will perform PMs, inspections, repairs, and diagnostics, maintain a service truck, and document RO findings using TRAIT on an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years’ related experience or any degree with 3+ years in related discipline, or 7 years’ experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own a full set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card valid; four months or more remaining acceptable.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain DQF.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and drivetrain systems.
• Test vehicles with handheld devices and road test to verify fixes.
• Maintain inventory on service truck and document RO findings via TRAIT on iOS.
• Communicate with management for approvals on estimates and purchase orders.
