Job summary

Baxter International Inc. seeks a Principal Software Developer (Mobile) to lead design, development, and evolution of Mercury mobile apps on iOS and Android using React Native with secure voice calling.

You will drive architecture and real‑time communications, integrate with backend services, and ensure HIPAA compliant security. You’ll mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable, patient‑centered mobile experiences in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise with React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong experience on iOS and Android platforms and integrating with backend systems.
• Experience with real-time communication tech (VoIP/WebRTC) and mobile voice calling.
• HIPAA-aligned security practices and familiarity with healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development, and enhancement of Mercury mobile apps for iOS and Android using React Native.
• Design secure voice calling across mobile platforms and integrate with real-time services.
• Collaborate across backend, web, UX, QA, cybersecurity, regulatory, and product teams.
• Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and drive mobile engineering best practices.
• Support production readiness, monitoring, and issue resolution in healthcare environments.
