Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Developer (Mobile) to lead the design, development, and evolution of Mercury mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native.

You will implement secure voice calling, integrate real-time communications, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure a consistent user experience. The role emphasizes HIPAA-aligned security practices, Agile processes, and production readiness in healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including mobile development.
• Proven expertise with React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
• Experience on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs and real-time communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development, and enhancement of Mercury mobile apps using React Native for iOS and Android.
• Design and implement secure voice calling across iOS and Android.
• Integrate Mercury apps with real-time communications services.
• Address mobile voice concerns including signaling, lifecycle, audio routing, permissions, and notifications.
• Collaborate with backend, web, UX, QA, cybersecurity, regulatory, and product stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and use JIRA/Confluence.
