Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience building complex software systems, especially involving deep learning, machine learning and computer vision, that have been delivered to customers.
• Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent.
• Experience with 2D and 3D vision tasks including object detection, segmentation, depth estimation, or point cloud processing.
• Experience optimizing ML models for deployment on resource constrained hardware including quantization, pruning, or distillation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present complex technical information clearly to executives and non-technical leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hardware and scientific leaders to define sensing and compute hardware requirements driving ML needs.
• Develop and optimize computer vision and DL models for robotic perception for edge deployment.
• Lead ML experimentation and validation informing hardware architecture decisions.
• Design benchmarking frameworks to evaluate sensing hardware performance across robotic use cases.
• Optimize models for edge deployment including quantization and pruning to meet latency and power targets.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to transition prototypes to production validation and fleet deployment.
