Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build the foundational ML infrastructure for feature engineering, model training, and serving across the company. You will own systems spanning streaming, distributed training, and inference, enabling scalable ML across fraud detection, personalization, and blockchain analysis.

You will design reliable ML inference, develop low-latency pipelines, and mentor engineers while collaborating with ML teams as a platform builder.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production distributed systems with ownership.
• Experience with low-latency ML infrastructure and streaming pipelines.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and improve code quality.
• Familiarity with ML platform components for collaboration with ML engineers.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure at scale.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for feature data.
• Improve distributed training infrastructure for large data volumes.
• Develop observability tooling for data quality monitoring in models.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise engineering standards.
