Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to design and maintain the infrastructure that powers feature engineering, model training, and model serving across the company.

You will own streaming pipelines and distributed training, ensuring high availability and low latency for production ML workloads including fraud detection, personalization, and blockchain analytics. You will also mentor engineers and contribute to building robust production-grade software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience building and owning distributed systems in production.
• Experience with low-latency data/ML infrastructure (streaming, serving, distributed training).
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and improve engineering quality through reviews.
• Familiarity with ML platform components (feature stores, model serving, training orchestration).
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure with high availability and low latency.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for production ML features.
• Improve distributed training infrastructure to scale data processing.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality and detect model degradations.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise engineering standards over time.
