Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build the foundational ML platform that powers feature engineering, model training, and model serving at scale.

You will own critical systems for near-real-time inference, streaming data pipelines, and training orchestration while partnering with ML engineers as a platform builder to deliver reliable, cost-efficient workflows across the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer with distributed systems ownership.
• Experience building or operating low-latency ML/infra (streaming pipelines, online serving, distributed training).
• Demonstrated mentoring of engineers and improving engineering quality through reviews and design sessions.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure for predictions and LLMs.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for fresh feature data.
• Drive improvements to distributed training infrastructure for large data processing.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality and detect model degradations.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise production-grade software standards.
