Job summary

Truemed is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to lead experiments that improve our product eligibility classifiers for pretax HSA/FSA approvals. You will design prompts, retrieval, and multi-model approaches, iterating to push accuracy and cost efficiency while collaborating with clinical and legal teams to translate standards into data and production logic.

You will own the end-to-end experimentation cycle, including labeling, evaluation, and reporting, and contribute to shaping Truemed’s ML

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering or applied research experience.
• Hands-on work with LLMs or ML models on real problems.
• Proven ability to run rigorous experiments and defend results.
• Comfort designing evaluation methodology for AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Run experiments to move classification accuracy from hypothesis to production.
• Design and iterate classifiers for product eligibility across prompts and models.
• Analyze misclassifications to define new experiments and failure modes.
• Extend evaluation sets and metrics, including labeling ground truth.
• Track and test new models to improve accuracy or cost.
• Collaborate with clinical ops and legal to translate standards into data.
• Document results to inform team decisions and raise AI fluency.
