Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the CX Intelligence Engineering team. You will design and deploy AI-powered systems that connect Help Center, chatbots, and agent workflows, enabling faster, more reliable customer support at scale.

In this remote-first, but not remote-only environment, you will lead multi-agent framework development, ensure security and compliance, and mentor teammates on modern ML workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with large language models and the generative AI ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Python with production-grade code generation and testing.
• Specialized depth in NLP, information retrieval, conversational AI, or advanced modeling.
• Ability to write technical design documents and communicate ML concepts clearly.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to drive outcomes.
• Experience with multi-agent/LLM orchestration and copilots in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy the multi-agent framework for agent assist and secure LLM-powered actions.
• Own end-to-end execution for complex ML initiatives from design to production.
• Build AI-driven concierge chat and agent copilot experiences to improve resolution rates.
• Develop systems to detect adversarial inputs and maintain safety at scale.
• Set best practices for ML system design, coding standards, and evaluation frameworks.
