Job summary

Intellectsoft is seeking a skilled ML/Backend Engineer to build scalable AI-driven platforms and APIs using FastAPI and Python. You will operationalize ML models, including LLMs, with robust data pipelines, observability, and multi-tenant support in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes integration with Azure OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases, plus strong software engineering practices, testing, and collaboration with client-facing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong Python coding skills with 7+ years experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on ML and production LLM systems.
• Experience building backend APIs with FastAPI, async patterns, rate limiting, and SQLAlchemy.
• Experience designing maintainable and extensible systems using DI, interfaces, and abstract base classes.
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone/Weaviate/Chroma) and hybrid search.
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures including retrieval, reranking, context assembly, and response generation.
• Hands-on LangChain and LangGraph for LLM workflows.
• Advanced Python, including async/await, type hints, Pydantic, and SOLID.
• MLOps with MLflow, model versioning, A/B testing; Langfuse is a plus.
• NLP and computer vision including document understanding, OCR, and GPT-4 Vision.
• Experience building feature pipelines, real-time and batch inference, model serving.
• Hands-on Hugging Face; LlamaIndex is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Good problem-solving and fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, refine, and use ML Engineering platforms; develop scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices with FastAPI.
• Implement MLOps including KPI measurement, drift detection, and feedback loops.
• Deploy and operationalize ML/Deep Learning models with focus on LLMs and GenAI.
• Integrate Azure OpenAI and other LLM providers with retry logic and error handling.
• Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies such as LLMs and transformer architectures.
• Scale ML algorithms for massive data under strict SLAs.
• Build and orchestrate model pipelines with feature engineering and inference.
• Write production-ready Python/SQL code with OOP and async patterns.
• DI patterns and layered architecture; build LLM observability (Langfuse).
