Job summary

Smart Working is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to join a remote-first team building and modernising an AI platform. You will work across Applied AI and MLOps, deploying production ML capabilities and building scalable pipelines.

The role requires hands-on experience with Python, model evaluation, and deploying AI systems with robust observability. You will collaborate across teams to enable reliable AI at scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional AI/ML experience with production systems.
• 5+ years of professional MLOps experience.
• 2+ years of Applied AI experience beyond experiments.
• Strong Python expertise and production deployment experience.
• Experience with generative AI/LLMs and evaluation for grounding/hallucination.

Responsibilities

• Refactor, modernise and productionise ML models and Applied AI capabilities.
• Build new ML components and modular production-ready services.
• Develop production ML applications using Python and related tooling.
• Create and maintain ML pipelines for deployment, evaluation and operation.
• Implement guardrails and evaluation for model quality and safety.
• Integrate external AI APIs and observability into the platform.
• Support batch and real-time ML workloads across platforms.
