Job summary

Scale AI seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own how we apply generative AI, agentic AI, CV, and RL to mission-critical problems in production. You will design architectures, build with others, and be accountable for production readiness in secure environments.

You will work on government-focused systems, deploying models and agents with robust evaluation, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product and research teams. A TS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying applied ML systems in production environments.
• Extensive experience with GenAI, Agentic AI, NLP, deep learning, RL, or computer vision in production.
• Track record of owning architectural decisions and defending tradeoffs behind them.
• Experience shipping agentic systems with real production traffic and evaluation rigor.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of agent capabilities end to end—architecture, implementation, and evaluation.
• Define new patterns in unestablished problem spaces and lead the work to build them.
• Deploy state-of-the-art models into production to solve customer problems.
• Improve and maintain production models and agents via retraining and hyperparameter tuning.
• Build agent-level evaluation benchmarks and verifiers to drive performance gains.
