Job summary

Airbnb, Inc. is seeking a senior machine learning engineer to design and productionize end-to-end ranking models for search and recommendations. You will work with large-scale data and collaborate across software, product and data science teams.

This US-Remote Eligible role combines strong coding in Scala/Python/Java/C++ with impactful ML work, including model training, serving, and A/B testing to improve marketplace relevance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in applied Machine Learning.
• Strong programming skills (Scala, Python, Java, C++).
• Deep understanding of ML best practices and algorithms for NLP, CV, personalization, search and recommendation.
• Experience with 3+ of TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Hive.
• Experience building end-to-end ML infrastructure and productionizing models.
• Exposure to large-scale software architectures and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data to build ML models.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, operations and data scientists to identify opportunities and requirements.
• Hands-on develop, productionize, and operate ML models and pipelines at scale (batch and real-time).
• Leverage ML tools and infrastructure to enable fast model development and low-latency serving.
• Tackle projects like feature platform, model interpretability, and hyperparameter optimization.
