Job summary

Zest for Tech in New York City is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a three-day-per-week, in-office role in Lower Manhattan, with compensation up to $250k. The team is scaling agentic systems and shipping production-grade AI capabilities for a rapidly growing startup backed by top-tier VCs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and deploying ML/AI systems in production.
• Experience with agentic systems and LLM applications.
• Hands-on experience with document processing pipelines and knowledge graphs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of core AI platform capabilities spanning search, retrieval, and multi-agent systems.
• Lead the design and development of multi-agent architectures and collaboration patterns.
• Build and scale document processing pipelines from ingestion to extraction.
• Enhance search and retrieval through ranking, query understanding, and QA.
• Grow knowledge graph capabilities that support reasoning and relationships.
• Lead high-impact AI initiatives from concept to production rollout.
• Write production-grade code and shape engineering best practices.
