Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in New York City or San Francisco for an on-site, permanent position. You will build and scale agentic AI systems, design orchestration layers, and deploy LLM-powered infrastructure.

The role offers ownership over critical AI workflows and thrives in a fast-growing startup with real revenue and meaningful impact. You will work 3-4 days per week in NYC or SF, collaborating with product and engineering to ship AI-native experiences while advancing platform

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with at least 2 years in AI engineering.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals with deep Python expertise.
• Proven experience with AI-native products, agentic systems, LLM workflows, or orchestration infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed systems, async processing, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with LangGraph, LangChain, vector databases, or similar AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale agentic AI systems that autonomously execute complex workflows end-to-end.
• Design AI orchestration layers, agent harnesses, tool calls, and production pipelines.
• Develop and deploy LLM-powered infra including retrieval and memory systems.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven architectures for AI workloads.
• Create production-grade AI systems with reliability, latency, and observability.
• Integrate external platforms, APIs, and third-party services to expand agents.
• Improve AI systems with evaluation, retrieval optimization, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to prototype and ship AI-native experiences.
• Evolve platform architecture for growth and new AI capabilities.
