Job summary

Tapestry, an Alphabet-backed team, seeks a Foundational Architect to shape a multi-year ML strategy bridging AI research, grid physics, and production systems for continental-scale planning and asset intelligence.

You will lead architectural direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with ML leads, power scientists, software engineers, and utility partners to turn large-scale grid data into actionable insights for planning, operation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years building, training, and deploying large-scale ML systems in production with modern frameworks.
• 4+ years in grid modeling, simulation, state estimation, or power-system optimization.
• Track record architecting systems handling massive datasets or compute-intensive workloads.
• Experience collaborating across technical disciplines and mentoring senior leaders.
• Ability to apply first principles and structured technical judgment to complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap and system architecture for multimodal intelligence engines across grid datasets and AI architectures.
• Collaborate with ML leads, power systems scientists, software engineers, and product managers to translate complex grid data into actionable insights for planning and operations.
• Mentor senior engineers, establish production standards, and align stakeholders around architectural direction.
• Advance AI architectures including physics-informed models to solve energy-infrastructure challenges in production environments.
• Establish scalable architectural patterns and long-term ML strategy through rigorous analysis and cross-domain coordination.
