Job summary

Tapestry is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure across the platform. Collaborate with engineers, ML experts, and domain specialists to plan and integrate work. You will help bridge real-world assets with cloud-scale AI to modernize the global grid.

The role focuses on building foundational distributed systems, data processing pipelines, and enterprise-grade services with a strong preference for Google Cloud Platform expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience building enterprise-grade complex software systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in at least one major backend language (Java/Kotlin or Go).
• Experience with microservices architecture: RESTful APIs, gRPC, event-driven design, and Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Knowledge of logging/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, GCP monitoring).
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or AWS/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement massive-scale, secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure and shared backend services forming the core of the Tapestry platform.
• Build systems for large-scale data processing and modeling to scale AI-driven simulations for complex power grids.
• Partner with cross-functional engineers, PMs, AI researchers, and Power Systems experts to translate requirements into products.
• Interface with external partners to refine technical requirements and rapidly develop prototypes.
