Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking an experienced Electrical Harness Design Engineer to contribute to Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design. You will develop wiring interconnect diagrams, harness drawings, and installation data, impacting spaceflight reliability.

The role requires 7+ years in aerospace harness design, strong CAD skills (Creo, Zuken, Windchill), and knowledge of harness standards. This full-time position is based on-site in WA with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, physics, computer engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years designing wire harnesses for aerospace.
• Familiar with Creo, Zuken, Windchill or other high-end CAD routing software.
• Knowledge of wire derating analysis.
• Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 harness standards.
• Strong 3-D CAD design and integration skills.
• Proficiency with Creo, Zuken and Windchill is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, and data signals.
• Select harness components, connectors, backshells, and cables.
• Create wiring diagrams using Zuken E3.
• Create 3D routed harness data files in Creo.
• Develop harness installation drawings and 2D harness layouts.
• Design harness support brackets and integration solutions.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide guidance for hardware installation and testing.
• Report activity schedules and technical status.
• Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
