Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the mitigation banking lifecycle within the Environmental Services Global Practice, based in Kansas City, MO. You will drive strategic planning, underwriting, and project origination while managing teams and ensuring financial and schedule performance across multiple markets.

The role requires extensive permitting experience, strong client development capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a natural resources, planning or environmental permitting discipline.
• 10+ years of mitigation banking experience including financing, origination/acquisition, development, and team leadership.
• Originating and completing at least eight mitigation banking projects over the last 10 years.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information.
• Strong project execution, interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking.
• 7+ years of experience with environmental permitting, NEPA documents, and related permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial underwriting and project origination.
• Manage full lifecycle of mitigation banking projects.
• Act as technical resource for federal, state and local permitting.
• Coordinate client and business development and networking.
• Mentor junior environmental staff and support staff development.
• Assist with recruiting and training as the business grows.
