Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Ground Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and deploy mission operations software for the Ground System. You will work with flight vehicle and mission-control teams to define requirements, develop prototypes, and ensure safety-critical compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and support for pre-flight testing and mission validation, with relocation provided for the right candidate and an on-going recruitment process.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of software development covering full software lifecycle
• Experience in build automation, CI, configuration management, verification, and deployment
• Demonstrated software skills in multiple languages, with ability to pick language per problem-domain
• Familiarity with Linux and Unix administration
• Active Top Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, verify and deploy mission operations software for Blue Origin Ground System
• Collaborate with flight vehicle and mission control teams to define software requirements and architecture
• Develop rapid prototypes to prove concepts and quantify risks
• Coordinate with systems engineers to ensure safety-critical software meets requirements
• Produce documentation for architecture, verification plans, user manuals and training
• Support software updates during pre-flight testing and mission validation exercises
• Integrate software components and run unit/system level tests using SIT and HIT simulators
