Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer, Mission Platforms to join our Mission Engineering team in San Jose, CA.

You will serve as the primary systems integrator for end-to-end mission capability baselines, translating roadmaps into unified baselines spanning hardware, flight software, ground interfaces, and mission ops. You will partner with domain leads to deliver standardized baselines, drive V&V campaigns, and ensure platform performance meets SLAs.

Qualifications

• M.S. or higher in engineering plus 8+ years in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience moving organizations toward standardized, product-line engineering and reusable architectures.
• Extensive experience in AI&T workflows and V&V strategies.
• Proven ability to drive alignment across senior, cross-functional stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of space vehicle dynamics and fault management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and integration of the holistic mission platform baseline.
• Partner with Business Development and Product Management to define end-to-end technical roadmaps.
• Establish standardized capability baselines for platforms (HW + SW + Ops).
• Act as strategic integration peer to domain leads (Hardware Chief Engineer, FSW Architect, GSW Architect, Operations).
• Execute system-level simulation and analysis to ensure budgets and performance meet platform specs.
• Maintain awareness across avionics and subsystem roadmaps to meet timelines.
• Drive V&V and Test Like You Fly campaigns to harden baselines for fleet production.
• Shape fault management architectures and operational concepts to reduce operator toil and meet SLAs.
• Drive systems standardization across Muon Foundry with reusable requirements and docs.
• Track high-level KPIs and integration metrics to guide resource focus.
