Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, California, is seeking a Senior Mission Operations Engineer to lead crew operations training and real-time mission support for Haven-1 and future modules. You will work with cross-disciplinary engineers to develop and test crew procedures, training products, and human-in-the-loop testing campaigns to ensure mission readiness.

This exempt, full-time role requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, 2+ years in spaceflight operations or training, and willingness to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, software engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 2+ years in real-time operation and/or training development for complex spaceflight systems.
• Experience building from scratch a system, processes, and team to perform complex operations and training for an aerospace system.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical crew training materials for experienced government crew members and private customers.
• Develop training materials across all vehicle subsystems for flight controllers on Haven-1.
• Execute training simulations, scripting, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Plan end-to-end training flows and lead execution of technical training events for certification of astronaut crew and flight control team.
