Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Staff Mission Operations Engineer to support the development of training programs and human-in-the-loop testing for console flight controllers and astronaut crews. This full-time exempt role reports to the Senior Manager, Crew Operations & Training and requires up to 20% travel to support mission readiness campaigns.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure safe operations of the Haven space stations and lead the flight control team during

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in operation and training of complex spaceflight systems with on-console leadership.
• Experience in human spaceflight mission operations and training development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training and human in the loop testing programs for console flight controllers and astronaut crew members.
• Iterate improvements to mission operations processes while maintaining safety and excellence.
• Collaborate with Mission Systems Engineering and Ground Software Engineering teams to test and deploy training systems and ground software.
