Job summary

Ansys seeks a senior modeling and simulation expert to join the ACE team within AGI, supporting space, air, and missile defense systems. You will build high-fidelity threat models, develop radar phenomenology, and generate AI/ML training data from realistic sensor observations.

Collaborate with government labs and defense communities to ensure simulations reflect real-world sensor behavior while evolving to meet new threat requirements; travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, CS or related field with 10+ years of professional experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain government Top Secret / TS/SCI clearance.
• Deep experience in air and missile defense systems and sensor phenomenology.
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for modeling, scripting, and interfacing with DoD systems.
• Experience with STK and AFSIM is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity models of threat trajectories and multi-spectral signatures within air and missile defense simulations.
• Develop radar phenomenology models across sensor architectures and bands.
• Create synthetic datasets for AI/ML training with edge cases and bias reduction.
• Integrate signature simulation into STK and AFSIM for threat detection and tracking support.
• Collaborate with government labs and SMEs to ensure fidelity matches real-world behavior.
• Support track fusion, custody management, and sensor integration across complex architectures.
• Provide leadership on modeling requirements and evolving program needs.
