Job summary

Orica is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for mining in the United States to drive revenue growth and market presence. This remote US role requires travel to mining sites and customer offices as needed.

You will identify opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and lead the sales cycle from prospecting to closing, leveraging our digital solutions and geotechnical expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience building, developing, growing, and running a sales territory.
• Established network of contacts in the mining sector.
• Proven track record of growing sales territories and managing complex sales cycles.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work effectively within a global team.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the mining industry, including engineering and consulting firms throughout the US.
• Develop and implement sales strategies and a growth pipeline that align with business objectives.
• Conduct thorough needs analyses with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.
• Travel to project sites and customer offices to build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key and new customers. Willingness to travel (estimated 25-40%) within the US is required.
• Attend and represent the company at industry exhibitions and conferences and network with professional organizations to establish the presence and reputation of the company.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to customers at all organizational levels.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
• Collaborate with technical and inside sales teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Maintain accurate records in Salesforce CRM and utilize EPICOR for quotes and orders.
