Job summary

The Senior Project Engineer at Jerritt Canyon is responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical oversight throughout the planning, design, execution, commissioning, and closeout of mining and mineral processing projects.

This role works closely with project managers, engineering disciplines, construction teams, operations personnel, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive engineering and project experience in mining/industrial sectors.
• Experience leading projects through conceptual to startup phases.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities for mining and mineral processing projects from conceptual design through commissioning and project closeout.
• Provide technical leadership across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, environmental disciplines.
• Develop and maintain engineering scopes, design criteria, and project deliverables.
• Review designs, calculations, and vendor documentation for compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers to establish schedules, budgets, milestones, and resources.
• Monitor progress and identify schedule, cost, technical, and constructability risks.
• Support budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, change orders, and cost-control measures.
• Work with construction teams on field engineering issues, RFIs, design changes, and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate interfaces between mine infrastructure, processing facilities, utilities, and related systems.
• Manage engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and other third-party resources.
• Participate in equipment selection, procurement, technical bid evaluations, and factory acceptance testing.
• Support risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID reviews, constructability reviews, and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental requirements, and health and safety standards.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory documentation and site visits.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote safety and reliability improvements.
