Job summary

Jerritt Canyon is seeking a Plant Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering expertise for safe, reliable operation of fixed-plant and processing facilities within a mining operation.

The role focuses on reliability, optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical equipment across crushing, conveyors, and related plant infrastructure. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Projects teams to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience supporting fixed-plant mechanical equipment and industrial processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for mining processing and fixed-plant operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment specs, and design documentation.
• Review mechanical designs, vendor documentation, and technical deliverables.
• Lead or support RCA, FMEA, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for critical assets.
