Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining, Civil, Geological, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of engineering experience in a surface mining environment.
• Experience with mine development, major construction projects, or transition to production.
• Experience with AutoCAD and mine planning software (Vulcan, Micromine, Alastri or similar).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Track mining, production, and construction activities against plans.
• Develop and update short-range mine and construction plans.
• Prepare equipment schedules for efficient utilization of mining earthmoving gear.
• Develop ore grade-control plans to optimize operational efficiency.
• Plan and track plant waste streams during transition to production.
• Assist with long-term mine planning, annual work plans, and monthly updates.
• Perform end-of-period material reconciliations and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and engineering teams.
• Provide engineering support for environmental, safety, and regulatory initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA requirements and safety procedures.
