Turner Mining Group in Winnemucca, Nevada seeks a Geologist to support the Thacker Pass Lithium Clay Surface Mine development and early operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a closely related geoscience discipline.
• Ranging from recent graduates to experienced mining geologists encouraged to apply.
• Entry-level internships/co-ops, field experience, or mining exposure preferred but not required.
• Experienced candidates: surface mining, exploration drilling, ore control, geological modeling, or production geology favored.
• Knowledge of geology, geochemistry, geological modeling, and hydrology.
• Interest in sedimentary geology and lithium deposits.
• Strong computer and data-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Maptek Vulcan, Geobank, or similar geological database and modeling software.
• Experience with geological block modeling, ore-control systems, and QA/QC processes.
• Fleet-management reporting knowledge a plus.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, engineers, environmental professionals, contractors, and other technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret geological data.
• Plan and support ore-control drilling programs with ownership aligned to experience.
• Interpret results and integrate data into short-range geological and block models.
• Support or lead ore-control activities for efficient mining.
• Develop and maintain short-range geological and block models for mine planning.
• Perform and track ore-control and production reconciliation.
• Collect and interpret geotechnical data.
• Maintain geological files, QA/QC records, and sample databases.
• Support QA/QC programs for reliable data.
• Monitor drilling permits and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors and other technical staff.
• Complete geological studies to support mine planning and operations.
• Collaborate with mine operations, engineering, environmental teams.
• Provide geological guidance during transition to production.
• Support environmental and regulatory initiatives.
• Adhere to MSHA and safety procedures; promote safety culture.
• Travel occasionally as required.
