Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Estimator in the Salt Lake City area to develop, manage, and coordinate capital cost estimates for mining and mineral processing projects worldwide. You will lead multi-discipline teams, coordinate schedules, and ensure estimate defensibility from design through execution.

Experience leading large mining estimates (PEA, PFS, FS) and familiarity with international projects, open pit and underground, are highly valued. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Mining Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in estimating/construction roles; field or preconstruction experience preferred.
• Professional certifications such as AACE, RICS, ASPE, PMI, DBIA are assets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules.
• Lead mining studies and program-level estimating efforts (PEA, PFS, FS, execution-stage).
• Develop detailed estimates for mining, process plant, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical scopes.
• Coordinate input parameters for estimates and schedules.
• Validate quantities from drawings and coordinate disciplines into one estimate.
• Prepare basis of cost estimate and labor-work plans.
• Establish site-specific estimating criteria including wage/productivity rates.
• Interface with management and clients for estimating tasks.
• Identify risks and opportunities and contribute to risk analyses.
