Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with heavy mining equipment maintenance and diagnostics, preferably within the mining sector.
• In-depth knowledge of various types of mining machinery and their operational principles.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment maintenance software.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and guide technical staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel to various mine sites as needed.
• Experience with specific OEM equipment (e.g., CAT, Komatsu, Sandvik) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert diagnostics and technical support for heavy mining equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and minimize costs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on mining equipment.
• Conduct detailed inspections and condition assessments of mining equipment.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of new mining equipment, providing technical recommendations.
• Oversee major equipment overhauls and repairs, ensuring quality workmanship.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and repair history.
• Develop and deliver technical training to maintenance personnel and operators.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in mining equipment technology and maintenance practices.
• Contribute to the development of equipment specifications and lifecycle management plans.
