Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Mineralogist to deliver high‑impact mineralogical support for optimizing gold processing performance at Carlin operations. You will diagnose metallurgical issues and provide actionable guidance to operations and projects, coordinating with multi‑discipline teams to improve plant performance.

Responsibilities include sample characterization, troubleshooting, and developing mineral analysis methods across microscopy, XRD, SEM‑EDS, and MLA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Geology, Mineralogy, Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or related field required; MSc/PhD preferred for Senior Mineralogist.
• 5+ years experience in a mineral processing or metallurgical lab, preferably in gold; Senior Mineralogist required.

Responsibilities

• Characterize ore, plant, and exploration samples focusing on gold occurrence, gangue and deleterious minerals.
• Diagnose refractory behaviors and link mineralogy to grinding, flotation, leaching, POX, roasting, and tailings performance.
• Provide rapid plant troubleshooting using mineralogical data and recommend practical process adjustments.
• Develop and apply mineral analysis methods using reflected light microscopy, XRD, SEM‑EDS, and automated mineralogy.
