Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mine Waste team in Lakewood, CO, with consideration for St. Louis, MO and Madison, WI.

You will lead civil design for mine waste containment and heap leach facilities, manage multifaceted geotechnical projects, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative regional team. Required are a Civil/Geotechnical degree and PE licensure, 5–7 years of geotechnical design experience in mining, and strong soil mechanics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of post-education geotechnical design experience.
• Professional Engineer registration (PE).
• Experience with tailings management and heap leach facility design in mining.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
• Proven client liaison and business development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities.
• Manage diverse geotechnical projects including field investigations and lab testing.
• Direct complex geotechnical analyses focusing on soil mechanics, deposition and stability.
• Deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget under senior review.
• Support client relationships and business development activities.
