Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Lakewood, CO is seeking an Associate Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join the Mine Waste team.

You will engage in civil/geotechnical projects across mining, heavy civil, and related disciplines, including TSFs, heap leach pads, and waste-rock facilities, while working with a regional team. You will perform field investigations, site characterization, facility design, and analysis, and contribute to reports and design packages.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or equivalent.
1–3 years of relevant post-education experience.
FE exam completed or within 6 months of start date.
Strong analytical skills for engineering calculations and analyses.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Commitment to safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

Contribute to civil and geotechnical engineering projects for mining including TSF, heap leach pads, and waste rock facilities.
Perform geotechnical field investigations and construction monitoring.
Assist with design: grading, storage capacity, and construction quantity evaluations.
Analyze slope stability, seepage, consolidation, liner systems, and settlement.
Prepare technical reports documenting field/lab investigations and designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare cost estimates.
