Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Ventilation Engineer for Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining ventilation systems for safe, efficient mining operations.

You will lead airflow surveys, simulations, and dust/gas control strategies in collaboration with engineers and safety staff. The position requires a strong background in mine physics, thermodynamics, and regulatory standards, with extensive experience in ventilation software and field

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with ventilation specialization.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mine ventilation, preferably underground.
• Experience in ventilation system design, airflow modeling, and diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of mine physics, thermodynamics, and air quality standards.

Responsabilidades

• Design, optimize, and manage ventilation systems for underground/open-pit operations while complying with air quality standards.
• Conduct airflow surveys, diagnostics, and simulations to assess performance and identify improvements.
• Develop strategies for dust control, gas monitoring, and heat stress management.
• Specify, procure, and commission ventilation equipment (fans, ducting, monitoring systems).
• Prepare ventilation reports, plans, and operational procedures.
