Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Level Permitting Specialist to join our Mine Environment team in Boise, Idaho. This full-time role involves supporting permitting strategies, baseline studies, and reclamation efforts for mining projects, with collaboration across our US and global mining teams.

You will mentor junior staff, analyze data, prepare technical reports, and contribute to proposals. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, NEPA experience, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, or related field with regulatory and permitting focus.
  • Minimum of 7 years in natural resources, permitting, consulting or similar.
  • Understanding of state and federal mining regulations and NEPA.
  • Experience delivering reports and presentations to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support permitting strategies for mining projects and proposals.
  • Develop environmental and permitting guidance for projects.
  • Lead or mentor junior staff within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop technical reports, memorandums, and client deliverables.
  • Manage projects within approved scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate field programs and data interpretation for large-scale assessments.
